SHILLONG, AUG 31: Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Wailadmiki Shylla has congratulated Meghalaya footballer Sanfida Nongrum on winning the Women’s Young Player of the Year at the FPAI Awards, calling it a proud moment for the state.
Sanfida has become the first woman from Meghalaya to win the prestigious award.
Posting on X, Shylla said her achievement reflects her talent and hard work and will inspire young girls and aspiring athletes across Meghalaya.
“Becoming the first woman from Meghalaya to receive this prestigious honour is a remarkable milestone and a testament to her talent, dedication and perseverance,” he said, extending his best wishes for her future.
