SHILLONG, AUG 22: Five masked persons involved in attacks on Assam-registered vehicles during the August 19 violence in Shillong have been identified, Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar said on Saturday after a joint meeting of Assam and Meghalaya governments.
Dhar said the government has sincerely regretted the incidents during the KSU’s black-flag bike rally and assured strong action against those involved.
He said KSU president, vice president and general secretary have been arrested under the Meghalaya Maintenance of Public Order Act, 15 FIRs registered, and a Special Investigation Team constituted to identify all miscreants and ensure action as per law.
