SHILLONG, AUG 24: Meghalaya Police has appointed DySP (Security) B Nongsiej (9863060830) as nodal officer to end the transport stalemate along the Assam-Meghalaya border and ensure free movement of vehicles and people.
According to an order issued by the IGP (SB), he will coordinate with all Meghalaya districts and with Assam counterpart SP (Zonal) Rajendra Ojah (9707081768).
Details of stranded vehicles will be shared with the SB Control Room, Shillong (9774618462) and Control Room, Assam (9181014888) for providing assistance and police escorts.
All district SPs have been directed to liaise with Assam Police for facilitating movement in both directions. The order comes into immediate effect.
