SHILLONG, AUG 21: Police have stepped up vigilance and vehicle checking across Shillong after a series of arson incidents, including checking of two-wheeler storage compartments.
Simultaneously, heavy security was deployed at Khyndailad to enforce Section 163 BNSS prohibitory orders barring processions and sit-in protests.
The district administration had imposed the order after inputs that the KSU planned a sit-in at Khyndailad.
RAF personnel, SOT vehicles and fire tenders were stationed at the location to prevent any violation.
