UDP slams Paul Lyngdoh, says he skipped party meetings for a year

SHILLONG, SEPT 17: Hitting back at senior party leader and West Shillong legislator Paul Lyngdoh for questioning the party leadership, UDP general secretary Titosstarwell Chyne on Thursday said Lyngdoh should have raised the issue within the party forum instead of making public statements.

“First of all, I don’t understand why Paul keeps on questioning the leadership issue, that too right from the day there was a reshuffle of ministers. Had he been serious about that, he should have attended the meetings. We had called meetings from time to time, but he never attended them. Only the last CEC meeting he attended, that is the only meeting he attended in this one year. So I don’t understand why he is questioning the leadership issue,” Chyne said.

Chyne’s remark comes after Lyngdoh recently made a statement questioning the leadership of the United Democratic Party.
