SHILLONG, OCT 6: The BJP has started strengthening its organisation in Garo Hills ahead of the upcoming GHADC elections, state president Rikman G Momin said on Tuesday.
Asked about the party’s poll preparedness, Momin said, “We have started to strengthen the party. We will look into it. We will keep on working.”
On whether the party has identified candidates, he said, “We will look into it again, let us see where to put good candidates, we will see to it.”
It may be mentioned that the current GHADC’s term has been extended till October 18 after elections, originally due in April 2026, were deferred following unrest in Garo Hills.
The council polls will now hinge on the preparation of the fresh separate electoral roll.
