SHILLONG, AUG 11: UDP president Metbah Lyngdoh on Tuesday rejected Congress leader Vincent H Pala’s allegation that the MDA would back the proposed FCRA amendments in Parliament.
Pala had made the remark while referring to NPP MP James K. Sangma.
Lyngdoh said the Chief Minister and other state leaders had already met Union Home Minister Amit Shah to convey the state’s concerns.
“I don’t think so. The CM himself met Amit Shah with a delegation and expressed everything needed on the amendment Bill,” he said.
On a possible MDA meeting to decide on the Bill, he said, “Nothing of that sort. We have all taken it up individually.”
